Transportation picks you up at your hotel and takes you directly to the Rincón Corobicí restaurant, located in Cañas, a town 45 minutes from Daniel Oduber airport. If you need to change, the restaurant has dressing rooms. From there they move to the river located about 40 minutes (paved and gravel street). It is important to note that for this tour all participants must be in optimal health.

This is an adventure tour full of adrenaline. The river has category III and IV rapids, the latter being the most intense. The distance of the route on the river is approximately 12 km (8 miles), where challenging rapids with turns and falls await you. A stop is included in the river to enjoy fruits, water and cookies. In total, the adventure on the river is completed in 2.30 hrs. Once the adventure is over, a traditional Costa Rican lunch awaits you at the restaurant (typical casado, dessert and coffee).

After lunch, we will visit a wildlife rescue center located only 5 minutes away from the restaurant. The center was founded by a Swiss couple: Mr. Werner Hagnauer and his wife Lilly Bodmer de Hagnauer.

Most animals are brought to the Rescue Center by government officials, rescued from human interaction, forest fires, hunting, or confiscated in illegal pet trade. After rehabilitation, many species are reintroduced to the wild with approval of veterinary care.

The center obtains its financing from the income from tourism admission to the Sanctuary area; in addition to donations, sponsorships, activities and sale of articles.
